Two years after outfitting Canadian athletes for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Lululemon has stepped onto the summer stage. This Tuesday in Toronto, the company launched its summer kit for Canada’s Olympians and Paralympians, set to debut at the upcoming Paris games from July 26 to August 11, and at the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
In creating the designs, Lululemon emphasized a blend of functionality and style. The development process involved close collaboration with 19 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes from 14 different sports, who participated in product testing and provided valuable feedback.
The transition to Lululemon as the official supplier came after its multi-year deal commenced in 2022, succeeding a 16-year relationship with Hudson’s Bay Company, which concluded post-Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics—delayed to 2021 due to the pandemic.
Calvin McDonald, CEO of Lululemon, expressed enthusiasm about the deepened partnership with Canadian athletes. “For Paris 2024, we had the opportunity to leverage an innovation-first approach, crafting a collection inspired by athlete insights to ensure optimal performance and comfort in Paris. We are proud to support these outstanding athletes,” he stated.
Team Canada’s attire will be a common sight at the Games, worn during the opening and closing ceremonies, medal ceremonies, media appearances, and travel. Additionally, athletes, coaches, and support staff will sport the apparel during daily activities in the Athlete Village, ensuring a cohesive and stylish presence throughout the event.
